When you have two parties that are not willing to compromise unless through violence than the chance for peace is impossible
The arrogant position of both sides is obvious to outsiders but not to the minds of the arrogant

Yep, they are standing too close to the situation, they can’t get the full view unless they step back, but neither of them want to take the first step it seems. :(

The same thing happens when you have one party willing to compromise and one not. Your comment shows total inattention (or is it wilful ignorance?) to the past 16 years, Wayne, since the signing of the Oslo Accord.

As long as you are only willing to dredge up the past, and hang on to your grudge, what do you expect? You are the one trying to tally up every grievance since the dawn of time. There is no ignorance about the past....it is over...let it lay... move on!

Nuya, that would be fine if Israel was the only one. Why don’t you tell the Palestinians the same thing?

How about the Palestinian (and Arab in general) desire to ”seek a just and lasting peace”?
Will that include recognition of the 900,000 Jewish refugees from Arab lands and their compensation, as well?
Will it include the rejection of Holocaust denial and the part the Mufti of Jerusalem played in the Holocaust?
Will it include the end of denying the Jewish ties to Jerusalem and Israel?
Obama is right about one thing: an imposed peace is no peace at all. Unless both parties can put aside their rhetoric and deal with harsh realities, there will not be peace.
Neither side will get a ”perfect solution”, nor will either side get all the conditions it wants– but they’ll have to reach an agreement that both sides can live with and prosper.
